Pilates that is
PERSONALISED, TAILORED & EFFECTIVE
I came to Pilates myself with several injuries including chronic lower back pain and hyper mobility issues over 20 years ago whilst working as a physical theatre performer, rowing surf boats competitively to world class level, and surfing for fun. Pilates was the one thing that helped me, and so I decided to train in order to help others. There were just too many people saying to me, once you have back pain that is it... And I knew from personal experience that this just wasn't the case!
Not only that, I wanted to provide skills for people to take into their every day lives.
Basically, I believe your exercise classes should give you skills to help you work in good alignment throughout your life, using techniques you can apply to activities around the house, at work, in the garden and in other exercise classes or sport.
That is why I make sure that my 1:1s and classes give you techniques you can use independently, with cues that will help you understand how to get the right muscles working; if you can sit, stand and walk in good alignment, you can start to move more freely and without pain.

From a physical theatre background I still work as an actor, sometimes heading off for short periods of time to appear on stage or screen. Classes are always covered by like minded and equally trained colleagues :)
“Physical fitness is the first requisite of happiness. In order to achieve happiness, it is imperative to gain mastery of your body. If at the age of 30 you are stiff and out of shape, you are old. If at 60 you are supple and strong then you are young.” Joseph Pilates
